Summer Camp

FISTA also runs a summer camp for children with special needs during the months of July and August. We have three locations for the summer camps: in Daychounieh- Mansourieh, Ayroun-Dhour Shweir and in Iyat- Bekaa. The camp also welcomes children from overseas countries such as Kuwait, Dubai, KSA, Switzerland, and France. Some join Fista only for the Summer Camp; others stay on a permanent boarding basis.

The camps are run by trained and experienced Fista Riverside Community-Beirut teachers along with volunteer teachers of international origin, mainly German and English, who reside in Lebanon for the duration of the summer camp. These teachers apply the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner thus offering a balanced experience of willing, feeling, and thinking activities that stimulate the children. The Summer Camp programs are designed for children with autism or attention deficit disorder (ADD) and offer a range of services to help children with specific physical, emotional, behavioral, or medical challenges. The rhythm along with the camp activity program encourage opportunities for singing, playing, handcrafts, arts, nature walks, and outdoors trips. Children are often taken on outings and trips such as sport activities, swimming and to restaurants. The school in Daychounieh has an inflatable outdoor swimming pool that the kids enjoy during their Summer Camp. Our residential and/or day camps have programs that are most suitable for children with specific special needs; and focus on meeting the needs of children who require special care and support. The medical staff and facilities at all of FiSTA Riverside Community-Beirut Summer Camps have been adapted to meet the needs of the children they care for.
